Two Pennsylvania men have died in a work-related accident in Shady Grove. The victims were employees of Manitowoc Cranes and both suffered blunt force trauma when an incident occurred. A third victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and two additional victims suffered minor injuries to their hands and arms.
The accident is being investigated by several different entities, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Representatives for Manitowoc Cranes have not released much information about the deadly occurrence at their Pennsylvania facility.
The two deceased victims, ages 49 and 66, were both men and lived in Marion and Chambersburg, respectively. They left behind loved ones who now must cope with not only their workplace deaths but also the trauma moving forward emotionally and financially in the wake of their losses.
In some situations it is possible for the surviving family members of deceased victims to initiate lawsuits in their own rights for the recovery of their damages. These personal injury-based claims are known as wrongful death suits and not all individuals are eligible under Pennsylvania law to file them.
